Food Demand Dangers
The natural resources of the planet are the healthiest options for our consumption in the form of food. Ever since the oldest ages man has learned how to used Earth's natural resources for sustenance and we have reached the 21st century because of what our green Earth has to offer us.
In the fast paced world of today and with a continually growing demand for food, many companies have taken advantage of chemistry and brilliant minds in science to create fast food in the form of faster growing animals and plants that can provide or turn into food to sell to the masses. While chemistry has shown its uses many times and the benefits are seen in a lot of examples, from being able to color our hair, to allowing us to buy Viagra for erectile dysfunction, some advancements have made speed our enemy instead of our friend.
While it truly is great that gentlemen can order Viagra online and receive their order of generic Viagra from any online pharmacy, and the ladies can achieve their perfect shade of brown, chemical compounds can sometimes bring harm to us indirectly. We've all heard stories of chickens grown in awful conditions and in small, dark enclosures, being force fed pills so they would grow faster and provide us with eggs and meat. Well, those stories are true for the most part, and it goes double for most foods we find in the supermarket.
In a few decades, if things continue to go like this we will find ourselves with tasteless foods that don't have any of the natural proteins or vitamins that we used to have about 50 years ago when food wasn't as scarce and the population of Earth did not cause such a high demand of processed foods.
Farmers markets are on the verge of extinction if we continue at this pace and we should all take a second to think about whether we want to eat healthy and delicious food, or overly processed and chemically enhanced food
