International Food Court

The Roanoke City Market Building located at 32 Market Square in historic downtown Roanoke was constructed in 1922 and was originally an area slaughter house. Now the building serves as an International Food Court that offers a wide array of cuisine from all over the world. The City Market Building is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm. It is closed on Sundays. Following is a list of food vendors you will find within the Market Building.

* Chico's Big Lick Pizza

Owned by tree hugging, hippie David Z. Estrada - a.k.a. "Chico" - Chico's Big Lick Pizza serves pizza and calzones all week long. Holding the belief that you should "Make Pizza, Not War," Chico's was voted the Best Pizza in Roanoke several years running. Stop by and give Chico's a try Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Friday and Saturday from midnight to 2:30am. You can reach the store by calling (540) 342 - 1197.

* Hong Kong Restaurant

Hong Kong Restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and offers Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese food. You can reach the restaurant by calling (540) 345 - 3790.

* Kim's Seafood & Deli

Kim's Seafood & Deli is owned by Kyung Shik Kim and sells most seafood and fresh fish including, but not limited to, shrimp, oysters, scallops, soft shell crab, snow crab legs, as well as frozen fish filets. * New York Subs

New York Subs is owned by Byron P. Penick who loves his dog. His eatery offers the best cheese steaks in the world along with fresh cut fries, deli thin Boar's head meats, and beer battered onion rings.  New York Subs is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30am to 6pm, and can be reached by calling (540) 342 - 9758. Swing by for some great food from a nice guy.

* Nuts & Sweet Things

Georgia Crump has owned her business in the Market Building, Nuts & Sweet Things, for twenty-one years. She loves downtown Roanoke and people love her for the sweet treats she offers. Nuts & Sweet Things offers Hershey Ice Cream, home baked goodies, candy, and suckers. You can grab some treats for yourself Monday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm. * Paradiso

Paradiso is a Cuban cuisine and is owned by Juan E. Garcia. The menu offers a variety of Cuban foods including paella, salads, sandwiches, and side dishes of black bean soup, yellow, white, and brown rice, chicken soup, fried yuca, and fried plantains. Paradios also serves roast pork, pepper steak, ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, cuban fried rice, and cuban beef stew. * Zorba Restaurant

Zorba Restaurant is owned by Adel Eltawansy and serves delicious Greek and Mediterranean dishes including gyro's, cheese steak, zorba chicken, lamb kabob, and salads as well as a selection of five vegetarian sandwiches. They also offer children's dishes consisting of a grilled cheese pita and a turkey cheese pita served with fries.
