The Binaba Shop

The Binaba Shop is a joint venture between Kingdom of Life Ministries and St. John's Episcopal Church and a project of Kimoyo Ltd. - a non-profit organization whose goals are to create an appreciation within the Roanoke Valley for the importance of cultural diversity through education programs as well as establish and maintain international partnerships for self-empowerment that address health and economic issues. Kimoyo is the Kishwahili word for "the language of the heart" which is also the organization's vision for Roanoke, the US, and the world.

The Binaba Shop is a volunteer run, non-profit retail store specializing in African artifacts, clothing, jewelry and home decor. Profits from the store are set aside for educational initiatives in the Roanoke Valley, the support of basic medical facilities and development of cottage industries in Northern Ghana. The Binaba Shop also offers an avenue to enjoy fair trade African arts, crafts, and culture in a new way as the stories and histories of the area is shared with store patrons.

The Binaba Shop is located at 120 Campbell Ave. in downtown Roanoke and is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Fridays the shop is open from 10am to 8:30pm. You can reach The Binaba Shop by calling (540) 345 - 7064. Or visit them online at Binabashop.com or Kimoyo.org.
