On the Rise Bread Company offers breads baked in the traditional European style. The most noticeable difference to the American consumer is that European breads feature a crusty outside and a tender inside, accomplished in part by eliminating the oil, fat, and sugar found in American breads. Most European breads are made only with flour, water, yeast, and salt, as they have been for hundreds of years.

Located at 303 Market St. in downtown Roanoke, On the Rise is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
